On Tuesday, 27 February, over 100 parents, students, staff and guests attended the Year 12 Colours Evening to celebrate the 67 students that were nominated for a Colours Award.  The students were recognised and awarded Colours badges and certificates for their excellent achievement from Semester 2, 2023 in the field of performance, community work, endeavour and academic results.

All guests were entertained by our Year 12 music students while being catered for by Ocean Fresh Café.   A big thank you to Suna Wallace who performed half an hour of cover songs while guests were arriving.  During the awards Thomas Lavery performed ‘Pair of Brown Eyes’ by the Pogues and Brooke Fuller, Suna Wallace, Raul Castillo and Mac Goodall performed ‘When You’re Gone’ by the Cranberries.

The guest speaker for the evening was 2013 graduate, Jade Levens who spoke about her time at the College and her journey since leaving. She spoke passionately about how your dreams can change as you grow, the adversity she has faced, to always persevere when faced with challenges and to accept the help around you, be it teachers, family or friends.

The College would like to thank our College Board members for taking the time to attend the event and present certificates to our students - Mr Mike Gilbert, Mrs Sue Egerton and Senior Sergeant Katrina McKenna.

Student Services will email a copy of the photo taken on the night to parents within the next few weeks. Please email  Mindarie.SC.StudentServices@education.wa.edu.au if you do not receive a copy by the end of the term.
