2026 Year 12 Colours Night for Semester 1
On Tuesday 18 August, over 120 parents, staff and special guests gathered to celebrate student achievement at our Year 12 Colours Night.
A total of 86 students received Colours badges and certificates in recognition of their outstanding Semester 1 achievements across a range of areas, including academic achievement, endeavour, community and performance. Of these recipients, 12 students earned multiple Colours Awards, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects their exceptional dedication and effort.
A special congratulations was also extended to the 43 students recognised as Full Colours recipients. This prestigious honour is awarded to Year 12 students who have received a Colours Award in every semester of Year 11 and Semester 1 of Year 12. Achieving Full Colours is a testament to sustained commitment, perseverance and excellence. These students will be formally acknowledged again at the Year 12 Presentation Ceremony in November, and their names will be added to the Full Colours Honour Board in the College Atrium.
We extend our sincere thanks to College Board Chair Mr Mike Gilbert and 2008 Mindarie Senior College graduate Josh Armitage, who assisted in presenting the awards.
Josh also delivered an inspiring keynote address, sharing his journey from Mindarie Senior College graduate to published author, international speaker and Associate Partner at a global technology consultancy, all while raising a young family. Drawing on his extensive experience in artificial intelligence, he provided valuable insights into both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, encouraging students to continue developing their critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills rather than relying too heavily on technology.
Guests were also treated to a performance of Toxic by Britney Spears, by talented music students Hudson Buckingham, Abbey Macken and Dylan Deacon.
Congratulations to all students who received Semester 1 Colours Awards. We are incredibly proud of your commitment, perseverance and achievements. Your success is a reflection of the hard work, determination and resilience you have demonstrated throughout the semester, and we look forward to celebrating your continued accomplishments in the future.
