2026 Sustainability Expo

On Thursday, 13 August, we hosted our 13th annual Sustainability Expo, providing our Sustainability Crew with the opportunity to showcase their fantastic work, whilst reinforcing the importance of sustainability and our shared responsibility to make a positive difference for the future.

We welcomed a range of local organisations, who provided interactive stalls and activities for students to explore, designed to educate them about sustainability and the environment.

The Mending Machine from Care to Rewear was a particular hit, with students using pedal power to help operate a sewing machine. Students also had the opportunity to get up close to some of Western Australia’s wildlife, including ‘Sir Eric’ the Southwest Carpet Python and adorable ‘Hazel’ the Koala.

Sustainability is a cross-curriculum priority at Mindarie Senior College and is embedded across students’ learning. It was wonderful to see students and staff engaging with the exhibitors and activities, increasing their awareness of practical ways we can all contribute to a more sustainable future.

A special thank you to our exhibitors for helping make the Expo such a success:

•  West Oz Wildlife
•  Perth Reptile Company
•  Water Corporation WA
•  WasteSorted
•  Keep Australia Beautiful
•  Stephanie Pontet, Care to Rewear

•  Messines Bee Farm
•  City of Wanneroo – Waste Management
•  Sam McMullen, Independent Living – sustainable cosmetics and candle stall
•  Jayne Hemsley, Boomerang Bags
