2026 Student Volunteers Recognised

On Monday, 24 August, six of our exceptional students, alongside 13 other students from schools across the Pearce region, were recognised for their selfless volunteer efforts at a special Student Volunteers Afternoon Tea, which Mindarie Senior College was proud to host.

Congratulations to Hannah Quirk, Elisa Wallace, Jack Hill, Rylee Jones-Brightwell, Mika Haturini and Alyssa Roa, who were nominated in recognition of their outstanding commitment to community service. Each of these students generously gives their time to support local organisations including Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club, Salvation Army Store Joondalup, Quinns Rocks Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, Youth in Emergency Services (YES) Cadets and Yanchep Aged Care,  making a meaningful difference in our community.

The event was hosted by Tracey Roberts, Federal Member for Pearce, who helped present the student awards along with Hon Jason Clare, Federal Minister for Education, and Mark Folkard MLA, State Member for Mindarie.

Year 11 Mindarie Senior College student Summer Rose Narrier-Adams proudly opened the event with a Welcome to Country.

Steve Faulkner, a long-serving Pearce local volunteer with decades of service including the Wanneroo/Joondalup SES, Quinns Rocks Youth and Emergency Services Cadets and Marine Rescue Whitfords, also addressed attendees on the impact volunteering has on the community.

Tracey Roberts MP, who was acknowledged for her 13 years as Chair of the Mindarie Senior College Board, said the achievements of the award recipients reflected the very best of the Pearce community.

We extend a sincere thanks to the special guests for joining us, including Federal Minister Jason Clare for visiting Perth to present these awards in person.

We are incredibly proud of our students who were recognised and their dedication to supporting others. Their willingness to give back to the community is truly inspiring, and they represent the very best of the values we strive to foster at Mindarie Senior College.
