Diversity Expo 2026

On Tuesday, 17 March, the College proudly hosted its annual Diversity Expo as part of Harmony Week, celebrating our strong culture of respect, diversity and inclusion.
During Mentor time and lunch, students explored a vibrant range of stalls and food trucks, enjoying interactive activities and engaging experiences throughout the day.
Highlights of the Expo included:
- An energising Japanese drumming workshop with Taiko On, where students experienced powerful synchronised percussion under the guidance of leader and teacher Simon Vanyai.
- Mrs Chester’s Our Mindarie Community art display, which proved especially popular as students created impressive self-portraits.
- Mr Brown Montgomery’s digital Who Are We Mindarie map, where students pinpointed their birthplaces, highlighting our diverse student population.
- Mr White’s Jiu-Jitsu demonstrations, with students enthusiastically participating and learning key self-defence skills.
- A student-led Ramadan information stall, where past and present students came together to educate their peers and share their faith.
- Chief Robinson-Kinson’s popular bracelet creation station.
- FISH (Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health), hosted a session where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students discussed ideas and goals for their group for the year ahead.
We extend our sincere thanks to the exhibitors and stallholders who contributed to the success of the event, including The Perth Artifactory, Headspace Joondalup, GOLD Educational Tours, Youth Pride Network, FISH – Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health and food stalls T Sisters, George’s Kebabs and Coco Creamery. Local community members who would like to be involved in the College’s Diversity Expo next year, are invited to register their interest with the College.
Thank you to those students who donated essential items to the CARAD Pantry, supporting refugees, asylum seekers and detainees.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge the College’s Diversity Committee for their efforts in delivering such an engaging and educational cultural experience for our students.
We look forward to Mr White cooking up his famous Māori Hāngī on Thursday, 19 March as we continue our Harmony Week celebrations.
