In Week 8 of Term 3, the Arts Department held its annual ‘Arts Week’ productions.

The event started on Monday,4 September with an art exhibition by the Year 12 ATAR Visual Arts graduate students where attendees enjoyed the art displays while nibbling on canapes. Lily Johnson was awarded the Art Acquisition prize which was donated and presented by Member for Burns Beach, Mr Mark Folkard MLA. Special congratulations to Caley Broughton whose artwork will be featured on this year's College greetings card. All exhibitors should be congratulated for a fantastic display of work.

Following the art exhibition, the Year 11 and 12 General and ATAR Drama students performed in ‘Inspired’. Students wrote and produced all their own performances, and the range of talents and performances were remarkable.

Tuesday,5 September commenced with a display from our talented Photography and our Media Production students who showcased their creativeness with their own productions covering a range of genres. Following the display, our Year 11 and 12 ATAR and General Dance students performed their showcase, ‘Its Showtime’ to a sold-out audience. The solo performances from the ATAR Dance students were awe inspiring and watching all the groups perform in unison was spectacular.

Arts Week wrapped up on Wednesday, 6 September with the Year 11 and 12 Music students show 'Frets to Society' which was a fabulous finale for the week. The Year 12 students treated the audience with their original songs that they recorded and produced for the Year 12 Music original album (on a USB) which is available to purchase from the College Reception for $10.00 each.

Congratulations to all students who received awards for their work over the three nights and to all the students who were involved in Arts Week, either performing, designing sets, photographing, or recording the events.

A big thank you to all the Art Department staff for their effort and time that was required to put together Arts Week – Mr Reese Driscoll, Mrs Leah Allen, Mr Ben Bradshaw, Mrs Bree Chester, Mr James Dixon, Mrs Celeste McIntosh, Mrs Michelle Stenner, Mrs Susan Johnson and Mr Jake Tomlinson.
