On Saturday, 18 June, 423 students and partners attended the 2022 year 12 College Ball held at the HBF Stadium. This was the second date that had been set due to COVID restrictions, so it was great that Students and staff were able to have a fantastic night.
On arrival, students were treated to a fiery act with professional firebreathers warming them up for what was to come. Once signed in, they walked down a red carpet and were greeted with choice of mocktails, soft drinks or slushies. They then mingled in the foyer taking the opportunity to get photos taken by professional photographers.
Once the curtains to the ballroom opened an aerial acrobat tumbled from the ceiling on red silk to reveal the ballroom dressed in a masquerade theme. Tables were dressed with masquerade masks and a crystal table piece. To set the mood, the lights were set to a pink colour.
Students had a selection of delicious food on offer through the buffet that evening. Roast beef, roast pork, spaghetti and meatballs, Tandoori chicken, roasted vegetables and a selection of salads was available for there main meal. If anyone had room left there was a small selection of desserts available, most notably it was the Ice cream truck that pulled into the venue.
A DJ set the tone for the rest of the night playing student selected songs that got everyone up and dancing.
The night was an overwhelming success an the College would like to acknowledge and congratulate the tireless work put in by Mrs Leah Allen, Mrs Ritz Lillywhite, the Year 12 Student councillors and the Student Services team.
