Course Outline
This course is designed for those students interested in pursuing a pathway to Health, Social and Community Services fields of employment.
Health Studies facilitates the development of knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to promote an understanding of the importance of personal and community action in promoting health.
The influence of social, environmental, economic, and biological determinants of health is a key focus of the course.
Other course content includes the influence of beliefs, attitudes and values on health behavior, and the importance of self-management and interpersonal skills in making healthy decisions.

To complement the theoretical side of this course, students will participate in several engaging and interactive sessions throughout the year, including regular guest speakers.
