Course Outline
Unit 3
This unit focuses on the realisation of drama text, context, forms and styles through the application of selected approaches to theatre. Students investigate the background, ideology and application of approaches such as Rudolf Laban, Uta Hagen and David Mamet among others.
Students will research and apply the roles of Actor, Director, Set Designer and Costume Designer in this unit.
Unit 4
This Unit Focuses on the realization of drama text, context, forms and styles through the application of selected approaches to theatre. Students investigate the background, ideology and application of approaches such as
Antonin Artaud, Frantic Assembly and Jerzy Grotowski, among others. Students will research and apply the roles of Actor, Director, Lighting Designer and Sound Designer in this unit.
Note:
Students maybe expected to participate in out of College performance. Students will also be given opportunities to view live performances as both excursion and incursions.
The course includes both practical and written components, including practical and written examinations.
Minimum Entrance Requirements
Achievement of a B grade in Year 11 English and Year 11 Drama units desirable.
