Olympic Inspiration for TEAM Students

On Thursday, 26 February, the College was delighted to welcome Australian Olympian Natalie Burton to speak with our Year 11 TEAM (Talented & Elite Athletes Mindarie) students as part of the Olympics Unleashed program.
A Perth local, Natalie shared her inspiring journey from a determined 11-year-old with a dream, to being invited to play college basketball at West Virginia University in the USA and ultimately representing Australia at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Students gained a valuable insight into the realities of high-performance sport, as Natalie spoke candidly about managing self-doubt, and highlighted the importance of having a strong mindset and goal setting, not only in elite sport, but in all areas of life.
Our TEAM students engaged enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions and seeking practical advice to support them in their own elite sports.
The College extends its sincere thanks to Natalie and the Olympics Unleashed program for inspiring and motivating our students to strive to be their personal best, in all that they do.
