On Thursday, 2 May, all Year 11 students attended the annual ANZAC day ceremony bringing the community together to remember all those who have served, past and present.
It was a moving service with a focus on returning soldiers from World War I. The College Board Chair and Mayor of the City of Wanneroo, Tracey Roberts, also spoke and shared the names of local returning soldiers from within the City of Wanneroo from World War I and II.
One representative from each Mentor placed a remembrance plaque on the Commemoration Field taking time to reflect upon the experiences and sacrifices the soldiers made.
The College would like to acknowledge our invited guests:
We would also like to acknowledge Mr James McNeill, Ms Nareeda Tillman and Mrs Sarah Moran for their organisation of the event, Mrs Michelle Downer and the Year 11 Student Councillors who helped capture the spirit of the ANZACs, Ms Lizzie Lysons and her music students for the wonderful music performances and Mr Stephen Coombs for playing the drums.
A very big thank you to the Home Economic ladies, Elise Gaglio, Wendy Clarkson, Gail Simpson and Helen Trew for putting together a lovely lunch for our invited guests to enjoy after the service.
