On Thursday, 9 August, the College held the fifth annual Sustainability Expo.  The event was organised by Year 12 Sustainability Mentor and also incorporated work from the Year 11 ATAR Health Studies students.

The expo recognises the importance of sustainability and celebrates our contribution to make a more sustainable place for everyone.  The focus of the Expo was on environmental issues including recycling and up-cycling, microorganisms and eco systems and preserving our endangered native animals.

Through the Expo, the College has created partnerships with external community organisations such as City of Wanneroo, Tamala Park and Earth Carers, Water Corporation, Department of Parks and Wildlife and a number of private organisations.  This year, Kinross College and Kinross Primary had displays for students to explore.  Mindarie students actively participated in the activities on offer and there was a positive vibe throughout the event.

The College would like to acknowledge Mayor Tracey Roberts JP, City of Wanneroo Major and Chair of the College Board and Mr Mark Folkard MLA, Member for Burns Beach, for taking the time to attend the Expo.
Congratulations to Elise Gaglio and Tracy Smith and their Sustainability Mentor students along with the Year 11 ATAR Health Studies students for raising the awareness of these important issues at the College and in the wider community.
