TEAM (Talented & Elite Athletes Mindarie)
Course Code - ADESP
Estimated Cost: $100.00
Course Outline
This program is designed to support elite athletes in both their academic endeavours and development in their chosen sport whilst enrolled at Mindarie Senior College.
We utilise the Elite Sports Performance Program, an Authority-Developed endorsed program that enables a student engaged in representative or competitive elite sports activities to be recognised for the significant learning encompassed within such activities.
Students in our College TEAM Program will focus on maintaining their health and wellbeing, including all aspects of recovery, injury prevention, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and sports psychology.
Students will be supported to manage their time between competitive sports and demands of Senior Secondary schooling. The program requires each student commits a minimum of 110 hours to the development of technical skills and knowledge of a specific sport through sports development programs such as those provided by the WA Institute of Sport, sporting associations’ sports programs and state or national development squads.
If selected, students will be enrolled in the Endorsed Program, and it will appear as a course on the students’ timetable. Completion of the program requirements will count towards achievement of WACE (West Australian Certificate of Education).
Students are still able to select from our suite of Health and Physical Education courses including Physical Education Studies, Outdoor Education and Health Studies.
Students should ensure that they have read and understood the TEAM policy on the TEAM application located on our website:
