Course Outline

This two-year course will suit students with an interest in the media industry.

With a strong career focus, students develop media production skills by working in specialised roles to produce media projects such as short action films, commercials, live studio productions, and documentaries. To ensure students are immersed in the media industry, the program includes incursions with professionals, such as editors, camera operators, content producers, and light directors.

The College is equipped with a High-Definition Television Studio that is regarded as one of the finest within the state public education system. In addition, students have access to a 1:1 editing laboratory equipped with the Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Students are provided with a subscription to Adobe Creative cloud to enable work at home on their own device.

The course is project based where students develop and demonstrate key competencies. All competencies must be achieved to be awarded the Certificate. This includes completing a project portfolio, and knowledge worksheets for each competency.

Minimum Entrance Requirements

An interest in Media Industry. Completed units in computing/media in Year’s 8, 9, 10 or 11.
