This course covers a range of sports science topics. Knowledge is gained through both theoretical and practical experiences with the course comprising of 50% practical and 50% theoretical content. Students are required to participate in all modules of the course to the best of their abilities.
The practical modules selected for the course are dependent upon the specific expertise of the teacher, resources and facilities available. These may include; netball, AFL, softball, tennis, basketball and touch football.
Content areas:
The course prepares students for a variety of post-school pathways, including immediate employment or tertiary studies. It provides students with a range of employment opportunities in the sport, leisure and recreation industries, sport development, youth work and health and medical fields linked to physical activity and sport. The course also equips students to take on volunteer and leadership roles in community activities.
