Course Outline

This Course covers a range of sports science topics.  Knowledge is gained through both theoretical and practical experiences.  The Course time is divided between the theoretical and practical components. However, the Course comprises 70% theoretical and 30% practical. For this reason, physical prowess alone will not be sufficient for success in this Course.

Students will be required to actively participate in all modules of the Course to the best of their ability.

Practical modules selected for each class will be dependent upon the specific expertise of the teacher and resources and facilities available to the class. They will usually include Soccer and Netball.

  • Functional Anatomy
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Motor Learning and Coaching
  • Sport Psychology
  • Developing physical skills, strategies and tactics
  • Practical sports may include Soccer and Netball

Minimum Entrance Requirements

B Grade in Science, Physical Education and English in Year 10
