Course Outline

Unit 1 - Representational, realist drama

In this unit, students have the opportunity to research and collaboratively workshop, interpret and perform drama related to realism, and representational forms and styles. 
Within the focus of realism and representational drama, students will investigate the approach of Konstantin Stanislavski, among a study of others

 

Unit 2 – Presentational, non-realist drama

In this unit, students have the opportunity to research and collaboratively workshop, interpret and perform drama texts related to non-realism and presentational drama forms and styles.
Within the focus of non-realism and presentational drama, students will focus on the approach of Bertolt Brecht, among a study of others

** Students are expected to participate in performances that may involve out of College rehearsals and performance. Students will also be given opportunities to view live performances as excursions and incursions.

** The course includes both practical and written components, including practical and written examinations.

Minimum Entrance Requirements

Year 10 Drama units would be an advantage.
Achievement of a B grade in year 10 English is desirable.
